Midwest Players Theater was launched to showcase original theatrical works highlighting stories from America’s heartland.

Founder Kurt Peters is a veteran journalist with 40 years of experience covering business, society, and culture. He started his career as a newspaper reporter in Harvard, Ill. (pop. 5,000), and from there moved to the Rockford, Ill., Morning Star. He spent the last half of his career as editor of Internet Retailer magazine covering the rise of e-commerce.

Midwest Players’ first show, Grand Family Foods, performed to sold out audiences in April 2024. The next production is in the works.
